The death toll in the devastating floods in the US state of Texas has risen to 120. While more than 170 people are still reported missing. A massive search operation is being carried out to find the missing people in the floods that occurred last week. Provincial officials said on Thursday that about 2,100 emergency workers were engaged in relief and rescue operations in Kerr County, one of the worst affected by the floods.

The county has suffered the most damage to life and property, where the most people have died and are missing. Earlier, the province’s governor Greg Abbott had said, ‘The main task right now is to find all those people who are affected by the floods. We won’t stop until we identify and locate every single person.”
This has been the worst year for measles transmission in the U.S. in more than three decades, and we’re only halfway through. The number of measles cases nationally reached 1,288 on Wednesday, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, though public health experts say the actual number is likely higher.

That number is 14 more than in 2019, when the U.S. nearly eliminated the vaccine-preventable disease — something the CDC says could happen this year if the virus continues to spread unabated for another 12 months. But the U.S. is a far cry from 1991, when there were 9,643 confirmed cases.
