SEATTLE, WA — Police are investigating a late-night stabbing in Seattle’s Roosevelt neighborhood that left a 28-year-old man injured and sent to the hospital.

The incident occurred around 11:20 p.m. on April 21 near Northeast 65th Street and 9th Avenue Northeast. Responding officers found the victim suffering from a stab wound to his hand, with the knife reportedly still embedded at the time they arrived.

Seattle Police and firefighters provided immediate aid before medics transported the man to Harborview Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the violence stemmed from an argument involving three individuals inside a residence on the 800 block of Northeast 65th Street. The dispute escalated into a physical altercation that moved outside, where the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim before fleeing the scene on foot.

Witnesses inside the home intervened and managed to break up the fight before officers arrived. Despite a search of the surrounding area, police were unable to locate the suspect.

Detectives with the Seattle Police Department’s Homicide and Assault Unit are leading the investigation. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000. Tips can be provided anonymously.
