The Washington Employment Security Department has announced that federal Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) is now available for workers and employers impacted by severe storms and flooding that struck Washington between Dec. 5–19, 2025. Eligible residents in affected counties have until June 10 to apply for assistance.
Officials say the program is designed to help people who lost jobs, had work interrupted, or became unable to work because of disaster-related damages and closures. Counties highlighted in the announcement include King, Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom, Chelan, Lewis, Pacific, Grays Harbor, and San Juan.
Residents are encouraged to submit applications as early as possible to avoid delays in receiving benefits and support during ongoing recovery efforts.
