USAKent Police Encourage Accountability and Recovery Through “Fix It For Your Future” Campaign

Kent, WA — The Kent Police Department is encouraging residents to take proactive steps toward resolving legal issues and improving their futures through its “Fix It For Your Future” awareness campaign.

Timed ahead of National Blame Someone Else Day on June 13, the campaign emphasizes personal accountability and highlights resources available to individuals dealing with outstanding legal matters. Police officials noted that while blaming others may be common, taking responsibility can lead to positive change and better outcomes.

The department is urging people with outstanding warrants, unpaid court fines, or court-related obligations to contact the Kent Municipal Court for guidance and assistance. Officials also highlighted the availability of specialized support programs for individuals facing substance-use-related offenses.

Among the resources promoted is the DUI Court Program, which combines accountability, treatment, and recovery services to help participants address behaviors associated with high-risk impaired driving offenses. The program offers intensive supervision and treatment aimed at reducing repeat offenses and supporting long-term recovery.

Kent Police also encouraged anyone struggling with personal challenges, including substance abuse or legal issues, to seek help from trusted friends, counselors, legal professionals, or crisis support services.

The campaign’s message is simple: addressing problems today can help build a safer and more successful future tomorrow.
