RENTON, Wash. — The City of Renton is advising residents that residential waste collection services will begin earlier than usual on Monday, June 15, due to forecasted high temperatures and potentially hazardous working conditions.
According to city officials, Republic Services will start collecting garbage, recycling, and food and yard waste one hour earlier than normal. Residents scheduled for Monday service are encouraged to place their carts curbside by 6:00 a.m. to ensure pickup.
Republic Services is also contacting affected customers through text messages and phone calls for those enrolled in service alerts.
The schedule adjustment is intended to help sanitation workers complete routes safely while minimizing exposure to extreme heat conditions.
City officials encourage residents to monitor local weather forecasts and stay informed through Renton’s emergency information resources.
