The central government has approved the construction of a major highway near the China border. This will increase connectivity to the border areas, apart from this, remote Arunachal Pradesh will be easily accessible to other states. China has been claiming Arunachal Pradesh under the name Tawang.
Modi government minister Kiren Rijiju announced this during a fair in Kamle district of Arunachal Pradesh. He said that this highway will pass through 12 districts on the China and India border. This will be a dream come true and will be a game changer for the states of North East India.

Rijiju said that this highway is going to cost Rs 42,000 crore. This is the only infrastructure project for which the Central Government has approved such a huge fund in one go. He said that Arunachal Frontier Highway will be very important strategically.
He said that even before this, huge cost has been incurred on Pune-Mumbai Expressway, Kolkata-Chennai Highway and Jaipur Delhi Corridor etc., but if we talk about strategically important projects, then this will be the most important. This highway will pass through strategically sensitive districts of Arunachal Pradesh like East Kameng, Bishom, Upper Subansiri, She-Yomi, Anjaw and Changlang. Rijiju said that such an important project has been approved only because of PM Narendra Modi

According to the information received so far, the total route of this highway will be 1400 kilometers long and at many places it will be just 20 kilometers away from the Chinese border. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar was also present at the fair in Arunachal Pradesh where Rijiju announced this highway. Addressing the Bosimla fair, Rijiju said that this area is away from the National Highway. Even after this, if the Vice President reaches here, it is an important thing and it will be recorded in history.
