India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a special conversation with famous podcaster Lex Fridman. During this conversation, the PM discussed many issues. He also talked about India’s culture, politics, spirituality, technological development and sports. Talking about football, the PM said that there is a mini Brazil in India.
PM Modi was asked whose cricket team is better between India and Pakistan. Both these teams are often seen as rivals on the field. As you have said that there are some geo-political tensions going on with Pakistan, in such a situation what role do sports like cricket and football play in improving India’s relations?
PM Modi said, “I believe that sports have the power to energise the whole world. The spirit of sports brings people from different countries together. That is why I cannot see sports being defamed. I truly believe that sports play an important role in making human beings better. These are not just games, but they connect people on a deeper level.”
