A complaint has been filed against Orhan Avtramani alias Ori in Jammu and Kashmir. It is alleged that he was caught drinking alcohol with 8 companions in a hotel in Katra. The area where this incident took place is near the Mata Vaishno Devi temple, where consumption of alcohol is prohibited.
Police have said that people present in the hotel informed the police about this incident. According to the hotel manager, on March 15, Orhan Avatramani (Ori), Darshan Singh, Parth Raina, Hrithik Singh, Rashi Dutta, Rakshita Bhogal, Shagun Kohli and Anastasia Arzamaskina were found drinking alcohol in the hotel premises.
Whereas they were already informed that this is a divine pilgrimage site and drinking alcohol and eating non-vegetarian food is not allowed in the hotel. A complaint has been filed against 8 people including Ori under relevant sections.
There is a complete ban on drinking alcohol in Katra near the Vaishno Devi temple under Section 163 of the BNSS 2023. This order is effective for 2 months from 9 February 2025. It has been implemented to maintain sanctity in that area.
