The Israeli army claimed on Friday that it had killed the head of Hamas’ military intelligence in southern Gaza on Thursday. In a statement, the army named the Hamas leader as Osama Tabash. It said he was also the head of the terrorist group’s surveillance and targeting unit.
There was no immediate comment from Hamas. According to ANI, the Israel Defense Forces said that three people from Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad have been killed. Rashid Jahjouh, the head of Hamas’s General Security Apparatus, was killed along with Ayman Atsila, the head of Hamas’s General Security Apparatus, in the Khan Younis area.
According to the IDF, Jahjouh played a key role in disseminating propaganda to legitimize Hamas’ rule in Gaza. Israel’s top court on Friday stayed the decision to sack the country’s internal security chief Ronen Bar. The court said that the sacking will remain on hold until his petition is heard.
