Chief Advisor of the Interim Government of Bangladesh Muhammad Yunus (PM Modi Muhammad Yunus Meeting) expressed his desire to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Bangladesh has requested India for a meeting between the two leaders. This information has been given by Foreign Minister S Jaishankar himself.
S Jaishankar told a parliamentary committee meeting on Saturday (March 22) that the request for a meeting between Bangladesh interim government chief Muhammad Yunus and Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the upcoming regional grouping BIMSTEC summit is being considered.
In the first meeting of the Parliamentary Consultative Committee on Foreign Affairs this year, many MPs expressed concern over the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh and asked what steps India is taking in this regard. S Jaishankar told members that the interim government in Dhaka has claimed that attacks on Hindus were “politically motivated”. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar briefed MPs on relations with Bangladesh, Maldives, Myanmar and Sri Lanka. He said he would talk about Pakistan and China separately later.
