Union Health Minister JP Nadda said in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha on Friday that till January 1, 8.9 crore people admitted in hospitals under the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana have received treatment. Rs 1.9 lakh crore has been approved for this.
Nadda said that in the implementation of the scheme, steps have been taken to prevent and detect various types of frauds. According to him, appropriate action has been taken against the fraudulent entities, including de-empanelment of 1,114 hospitals, imposition of a fine of Rs 122 crore on 1,504 erring hospitals and suspension of 549 hospitals
Responding to another question, Nadda said that since the launch of the 100-day intensive TB eradication campaign in 348 districts in December last year, 5.63 crore persons have been screened and 1.59 lakh new TB patients have been identified
