The Ministry of External Affairs on Sunday (June 29, 2025) categorically rejected the claim of the Pakistan Army that India was behind the suicide attack in Waziristan. 13 soldiers were killed in this attack a day earlier. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal issued a statement on the social media platform X, saying, “We have seen an official statement of the Pakistani Army, In which India has been blamed for the attack on Waziristan on June 28. We reject this statement with complete contempt’.

On Saturday (June 28, 2025), a suicide bomber rammed a vehicle laden with explosives into a Pakistani military convoy in the North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Dawn News reported, quoting a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), that the attack was carried out by Fitna-al-Khawarij, in which 13 soldiers were killed. “A suicide bomber rammed a vehicle loaded with explosives into the military convoy,” a local government official in the North Waziristan district said on condition of anonymity.

In the blast, 13 soldiers were killed, 10 military personnel and 19 civilians were injured.” According to news agency AFP, areas along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border have seen a rise in violence since the Taliban returned to power in Kabul in 2021. Pakistan has accused its neighbour of allowing its soil to be used for attacks against it, which the Taliban denies.
