US President Donald Trump has described billionaire Elon Musk’s move to form a new political party as ridiculous. He said that he has gone completely out of control. Musk, who was once very close to Trump, had on Saturday announced the formation of a new political party named ‘America Party’.He said in a post on X, ‘He has founded the America Party to challenge the two-party system in America. His party will challenge the Republican and Democratic parties.’
The President reacted sharply to Musk’s move on Sunday. He told reporters before boarding Air Force One, “I think it’s foolish to start a third party. There has always been a two-party system and starting a third party only adds to the confusion.”
Earlier, Trump said on his internet media platform Truth Social, ‘It is sad to see that Elon Musk has gone completely out of control. Musk wants to start a third political party, whereas such parties have never been successful in America. The third party has only one job – to create complete chaos and anarchy.’ Trump claimed that this political initiative by Tesla CEO Musk was due to the resentment arising from his plan to eliminate subsidies promoting the purchase of electric vehicles.
Trump also alleged that Musk had attempted to exert improper influence by asking him to nominate his friend Jared Isaacman as NASA administrator. Isaacman’s nomination was also withdrawn when Musk left a government position in the Trump administration. In May, Musk openly criticized Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’, after which the differences between the two came out in the open. After this, Musk resigned from the post of head of Trump’s government efficiency department.
