The US investigative agency Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has added the names of three Iranians, including Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan Raza Amiri Muqaddam, to the most wanted list. A statement issued by the FBI alleged that Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Muqaddam, and two other Iranians, Taqi Daneshvar and Ghulam Hussain Mohammadnia, were allegedly involved in the kidnapping of retired US Special Agent Robert A. ‘Bob’ Levinson in March 2007.
The FBI statement said that retired special agent Bob went missing from Kish, Iran on March 9, 2007. There has been no comment from Iran on this matter so far. BBC Urdu contacted the Iranian Embassy in Pakistan for comment on this matter but could not get any reply from them. The FBI has released posters of these three people and said that it is investigating Iranian officials for their alleged role in the kidnapping of retired special agent Bob and Iran’s attempt to put the responsibility of this action on someone else.
The FBI has claimed that Raza Amiri Muqaddam, Taqi Danishvar and Ghulam Hussain Mohammadnia are officers of Iran’s intelligence agency. Steven Jensen, assistant director in charge of the FBI’s Washington field office, said the three intelligence officers were among those who helped kidnap retired special agent Bob in 2007 and cover up the operation by the Iranian government.
