In a statement issued on Wednesday, the embassy also said that the US expects foreign visitors to follow all US laws. This statement was shared on the embassy’s x handle. This warning has been issued at a time when a video circulating on internet media allegedly shows an Indian woman being detained by police officers. The woman is accused of trying to steal several items from a store in America. However, the authenticity of the video could not be confirmed.
The US Embassy said, committing assault, theft or burglary in the US will not only lead to legal problems – but can also result in cancellation of your visa. You may also be ineligible for future US visas. The United States values law and order and expects foreign visitors to obey all U.S. laws.’ Earlier on June 19, the embassy had said in a post that US visa is a privilege, not a right. Its scrutiny does not stop after the visa is issued. If someone breaks the law, the authorities can cancel it.
