There is a huge crowd of devotees in Mahakumbh due to Sunday holiday. There is a 10 to 15 km long jam on all the roads leading to Sangam.Vehicles are moving for 25 km on the roads leading to Prayagraj from Varanasi,
Lucknow, Kanpur and Rewa. Those going to take a dip in the Sangam and the devotees returning from there are hungry and thirsty waiting for the traffic jam to clear
Emergency crowd management plan was implemented to manage the crowd at Prayagraj Junction. In view of the heavy crowd, Prayagraj Sangam station had to be closed. Akash Dwivedi, a devotee returning to Lucknow, said that his car was stuck in the traffic jam in Malaka village for 3 hours
Akhilesh Yadav also met devotees returning from Mahakumbh on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway near Kannauj. He was going to Saifai on Saturday night. He inquired about the well-being of the devotees. Akhilesh demanded to make vehicles toll free in UP on Mahakumbh. Said- This will reduce the travel hurdles and also the problem of traffic jams
