Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has written an open letter to Army Chief Asif Munir on Sunday. In this letter, Imran has criticized the army, accusing it of unconstitutional activities and political interference.

Imran Khan wrote, ‘For the stability and security of Pakistan, it is necessary that the gap between the army and the people be bridged. For this, the army should return within the ambit of the Constitution, separate itself from politics and fulfill its responsibilities’

Posting the letter on Facebook, Imran alleged that he was facing inhuman treatment in jail. Imran said that he was kept in the hanging cell for 20 days, where there was no light and no electricity facility. On January 16, a Pakistani court had sentenced former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in a corruption case. According to Dawn news, Imran was sentenced to 14 years and Bushra to 7 years. Both were accused of causing a loss of 50 billion Pakistani rupees to the national treasury
