In a recent interview with BH Basket, the general manager of Dubai, Dejan Kamenjasevic, talked about the season budget and the first EuroLeague campaign of the team based in the most populous city of the United Arab Emirates. “The budget is 16 million euros,” he said, “The eleventh largest in the Euroleague.”
“It’s always Dubai that is the problem, not the more expensive teams,” furthered Kamenjasevic, “Last season, our budget was only four million euros, and we were on the top. We are the only team that publicly shares the season budget, which is within the financial regulations of the EuroLeague.”
In addition to the AdmiralBet ABA League, the 2025-26 campaign will also feature Dubai in the EuroLeague. The 38-game schedule of the Regular Season will be demanding, beyond facing the remaining clubs in the top tier of European basketball.
“Dubai is the team that will travel the most across all sports franchises in the world,” noted the team GM, “We will be in the air for 23 days, two and a half months away from Dubai.”
Besides landing Justin Anderson, Aleksa Avramovic, Dwayne Bacon, Mouhammadou Jaiteh, Mfiondu Kabengele, Kenan Kamenjas, Dzanan Musa, and McKinley Wright IV, one more recruit in Filip Petrusev, is expected to complete the roster for head coach Jurica Golemac.
“Our goal is to be competitive,” Kamenjasevic described the task in the EuroLeague, “It will be much more demanding than the ABA League. Last season, few believed in us, and we were eventually among the best teams in the league. Our vision for the EuroLeague is long-term. We want to grow season by season and play the way we know best.”
The next installment of the EuroLeague tips off on September 30, with Dubai hosting Partizan Mozzart Bet in Coca-Cola Arena.
