What is Pakistan’s motive behind giving ‘Nishan-e-Imtiaz’ to American General?

INTERNATIONALWhat is Pakistan's motive behind giving 'Nishan-e-Imtiaz' to American General?

The closeness between America and Pakistan is increasing day by day. After getting loan from IMF and Pak Army Chief Asim Munir’s visit to White House, another big news is coming from Islamabad. US Central Command (USCENTCOM) chief General Michael Kurilla has reached Pakistan.

General Kurilla was given a grand welcome in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad. Not only this, the neighbouring country has also awarded him the country’s highest military honour ‘Nishan-e-Imtiaz’. Obviously, Pakistan will not do all this without any purpose. There is a big motive of the neighbouring country hidden behind this hospitality.

A high profile ceremony was held for General Kurilla at the President House of Pakistan and President Asif Ali Zardari gave him the country’s highest honor ‘Nishan-e-Imtiaz’. Its pictures are rapidly going viral on social media. Later, General Kurilla was seen saluting Pak Army Chief Asim Munir.

In fact, by giving this honor to General Kurilla, Pakistan wants to prove its loyalty to America. It wants help from America in the field of defense. However, there is a bigger motive than this, FATF (Financial Action Task Force) Pakistan was on the FATF grey list from June 2018 to October 2022. FATF is a global organization formed against terrorism, which cracks down on countries supporting terrorism. After the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor, the terrorism flourishing in Pakistan has once again come to light.
