America will change completely in the coming few years. There are indications of this. Rapid changes are taking place in the second term of US President Donald Trump. In this change, there are no opportunities for people from foreign countries including India or they are shrinking. This is a big disappointment for all Indians who aspire for the ‘American Dream’. Trump wants only the ‘cream of the cream’ of India. This is a big shift in America’s policy.
He now wants to admit only the best and most deserving Indian talent, not people who are just starting out in their careers. IIM pass out Lokesh Ahuja has shared his opinion on this on LinkedIn. He says that now the ‘American Dream’ is ending for many young Indian immigrants. America is quietly changing the rules. These rules are only benefiting the rich. In his post, Ahuja warned about layoffs in big tech companies, increasing anti-immigrant talk and changes in the visa system. He says that entry-level employees are no longer getting opportunities.
Ahuja wrote, ‘Trump is back. He is not backing down.’ He referred to the President’s statement in which he had said, ‘Give jobs to Americans, not Indians.’ Now policies are also being made in the same manner. The US’s new points-based immigration system only benefits high-earning people. It is excluding new graduates and early-career people. Ahuja says that America still needs talent from around the world. But, not all. They only want the best people. Trump does not want 23-year-olds who want to prove themselves. He wants 29-year-olds who already have a good job.
