Renton residents will have the opportunity to responsibly recycle hard-to-dispose-of items at a special recycling event hosted by the City’s Sustainability and Solid Waste team on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The event will take place at Renton Technical College Parking Lot #3 (NE 6th Place & Monroe Ave. NE, Renton, WA 98056).
Items Accepted

Styrofoam packaging: clean white block Styrofoam (#6 or EPS), bagged Styrofoam peanuts, and bubble wrap

Plastic bags and film: grocery bags, food bags, Amazon mailers, and other clean film plastics

Documents for shredding: up to four banker-size boxes (12″x15″x10″) or equivalent in bags. Accepted items include paper, mail, photographs, blueprints, and file folders. Staples, clips, and rubber bands do not need to be removed.

Community Giving
Alongside recycling, the City will be collecting non-perishable food donations for the local food bank to support Renton neighbors in need.
