USAHouser Way North Closure Begins September 3 for WSDOT Utility Work

Drivers in Renton should prepare for extended road closures as part of Houser Way North will be shut down for construction starting Tuesday, September 3, through December 31, 2025.

The affected stretch runs between Lake Washington Boulevard North and Lowe’s business access road. The closure will allow the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) to complete major infrastructure improvements, including the installation of a new water main and enhancements to storm drainage systems.

City officials advise motorists to use alternate routes and allow for extra travel time, particularly during peak commuting hours.

For more details and project updates, residents can visit the WSDOT construction page at wsdot.wa.gov.
