Former US State Department official Mike Benz has alleged that America has used many strategies to interfere in the politics of different countries
According to the report, Benz has claimed that the US tried to influence the politics of India, Bangladesh, and other countries through media influence, social media censorship and financial support to opposition movements.
Benz alleged that tech companies like Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube, and Twitter were pressured by the US State Department to stop pro-Modi content. Reducing WhatsApp’s message forwarding limit in January 2019 was also said to be part of this strategy
According to him, US-backed agencies tried to influence elections and destabilize governments. Mike Benz claimed that institutions linked to the US government interfered in the internal politics of many countries including India and Bangladesh.
