SEATTLE, WA – October 19, 2025 — A tragic single-vehicle collision in the SODO area on Saturday night has left one teenager dead and three others seriously injured.
Police responded at 10:09 p.m. on October 18 to a crash at East Marginal Way South and South Spokane Street. Upon arrival, officers found a vehicle overturned. The 16-year-old female driver was trapped inside the car, while a male teenager had been ejected and was in critical condition. Two other male teens had exited the vehicle but suffered serious injuries.
All four victims were transported to Harborview Medical Center. Despite lifesaving efforts, the male teen who was ejected succumbed to his injuries. The other three remain hospitalized with serious or critical injuries.
According to investigators, the vehicle exited southbound State Route 99 at Harbor Island, hit a ramp barrier, and fell approximately 80 feet before landing upside down.
Detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) are actively investigating the crash. They are examining possible factors including speed, impairment, and weather conditions. The investigation is ongoing.
