Kent, WA — The Kent Police Department (KPD) proudly announced the swearing-in of five new Corrections Officers at a recent City Council meeting. Mayor Dana Ralph administered the oath of office, while Chief Rafael Padilla shared that the City of Kent Corrections Facility (CKCF) has once again achieved state accreditation with a flawless review — meeting more than 170 professional standards with zero deficiencies.
The new officers — D. Bartlett, H. Grewal, A. Mey, M. Santos, and C. Msaad — bring diverse backgrounds and a shared commitment to public safety and community service. CKCF, built in 1986 and expanded to house up to 100 inmates, is one of only three city jails in Washington State to hold this prestigious accreditation.
Chief Padilla commended the team, stating that CKCF’s success reflects “a culture of excellence, care, and professionalism” within Kent’s law enforcement community. The facility will receive its official award next month at the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs (WASPC) Conference.
Kent Police Department continues to set the standard for integrity, safety, and service in Washington State.
