USAMan Arrested in Connection With $2 Million West Seattle Jewelry Heist

SEATTLE, Wash. – October 28, 2025 — A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a brazen $2 million smash-and-grab jewelry store robbery that took place in West Seattle earlier this year, police announced.

Seattle Police Department (SPD) detectives, working in coordination with the Renton Police Department (RPD), took the suspect into custody on October 16. He was already wanted for multiple smash-and-grab robberies and additional weapons charges. Authorities say the man, a previously convicted felon, is legally prohibited from possessing firearms.

According to SPD, robbery charges related to the August heist were referred to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office (KCPO) on October 18. The suspect is currently being held at the Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent on $250,000 bail.

During his arrest, police reportedly recovered two firearms, ammunition, narcotics, and other evidence connected to ongoing investigations. However, none of the stolen jewelry — including emerald necklaces, gold bracelets, Rolex watches, and platinum diamonds — has been recovered.

Three additional suspects remain at large.

The August 14 Heist

The robbery occurred around 12:00 p.m. on August 14, when four masked suspects stormed a jewelry store in the 4500 block of California Avenue Southwest. Armed with hammers, the suspects shattered the locked front glass door before smashing six display cases and stealing an estimated $2 million worth of luxury jewelry and watches.

One of the suspects reportedly used bear spray and a taser to threaten store employees during the 90-second robbery. No injuries were reported.

According to police, one display case contained $700,000 to $800,000 in Rolex watches, while another held an emerald necklace valued at $125,000 along with platinum diamonds and other gold items.

After the heist, the suspects fled in a getaway vehicle before officers arrived. Despite an extensive search by SPD patrol officers and crime scene investigators, the suspects initially escaped capture.

The case remains an active and ongoing investigation under SPD’s Robbery Unit.
