Seahawks Bring Back Myles Gaskin, Sign Running Back to Practice Squad

SPORTS & BUSINESSSeahawks Bring Back Myles Gaskin, Sign Running Back to Practice Squad

Renton, WA — October 30, 2025:
The Seattle Seahawks have re-signed running back Myles Gaskin to their practice squad, just one day after releasing him, the team announced Thursday.

To make room for Gaskin, the Seahawks released Velus Jones Jr., who had been added to the practice squad earlier this week.

Gaskin, a former University of Washington standout and Lynnwood native, returns to Seattle with significant NFL experience. Since being selected in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins, Gaskin has appeared in 46 games, starting 17, across stints with multiple teams.

His most productive seasons came with Miami in 2020 and 2021, when he rushed for 1,192 yards and six touchdowns, adding 622 receiving yards and six more scores in 27 games.

Before his professional career, Gaskin was a record-breaking running back for the Washington Huskies, becoming the first player in Pac-12 history to rush for 1,000 yards in four consecutive seasons. He also joined Wisconsin’s Ron Dayne as just the second FBS player to record more than 1,200 rushing yards in four straight years.

Gaskin left UW as the school’s all-time leader in rushing yards (5,323), rushing touchdowns (57), and total touchdowns (62). His career rushing total ranks third in Pac-12 history.

The Seahawks continue to adjust their backfield depth as they prepare for the second half of the season, and Gaskin’s return adds valuable experience and familiarity to the roster.
