Renton, WA – October 31, 2025
A 15-year-old boy is in custody at the King County Youth Detention Center after being arrested by Valley SWAT officers on multiple charges linked to an Auburn Police Department warrant.
According to the Renton Police Department, the arrest occurred after officers located the teen at a residence near Duvall Avenue NE and NE 6th Street in Renton. During a subsequent search of the home, detectives reportedly discovered a ghost gun equipped with a 30-round magazine concealed inside a toilet.
In addition to charges filed by the Auburn Police Department, Renton detectives plan to recommend additional charges for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Possession of a Ghost Gun. Authorities say the investigation into the teen’s activities and potential accomplices remains ongoing, and further charges could follow.
The Valley SWAT Team is a multi-agency unit that includes officers from Renton, Auburn, Kent, Federal Way, Tukwila, and the Port of Seattle, specializing in high-risk arrests and critical incidents across the region.
Police emphasized that the coordinated effort highlights ongoing concerns about the rise of untraceable “ghost guns” and their use among minors.
