City of Kent Launches Annual Canned Food Drive to Support Local Families

USACity of Kent Launches Annual Canned Food Drive to Support Local Families

Kent, WA — November 8, 2025:
The City of Kent has kicked off its annual Canned Food Drive, inviting residents and city employees to help support local families in need throughout the holiday season.

From November 3 through December 2, community members can drop off non-perishable, non-expired food donations at Kent City Hall (220 4th Ave S), Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The initiative benefits two key community partners — the Kent Food Bank and Project Access — both of which provide vital resources to families across the Kent area.

Those unable to visit City Hall can also donate directly to the organizations online:

Organizers shared a Food Bank Wish List to help guide donations. Items most in need include:

  • Peanut butter and peanut butter alternatives

  • Canned proteins (such as tuna, salmon, or chicken)

  • Canned beans, fruits, and vegetables

  • Canned baby formula and baby food

  • Chili, stew, and canned soups

City officials praised Kent staff and residents for their continued generosity and community spirit, emphasizing how collective efforts make a real difference for neighbors in need during the holiday season.
