The National Weather Service (NWS) Seattle has issued a flood advisory for the South Sound region until 3:15 PM this afternoon, warning residents of potential urban and small stream flooding due to persistent rainfall.

According to NWS rainfall reports collected through 11:00 AM, several areas have already received significant precipitation:

  • NWS Seattle: 1.15″

  • Bremerton: 1.11″

  • Boeing Field: 1.10″

  • Olympia: 0.33″

  • Everett: 0.10″

  • Bellingham & Chehalis: 0.00″

Officials are urging drivers to exercise extreme caution, emphasizing the life-threatening risks of attempting to drive through flooded roads. The advisory highlights that most flood fatalities occur in vehicles, and even shallow water can be more dangerous than it appears.

Residents are encouraged to stay updated with weather alerts and avoid traveling through barricaded or water-covered roadways.
