USAArmed Robbery Suspect Arrested Following Redmond Police Investigation

Redmond, WA — November 14, 2025

Redmond Police officers have arrested a suspect in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on October 16. The robbery took place at a residence in the 4000 block of 159th Ave. NE, where an elderly victim was approached by a man driving a white Tesla. According to the victim, the suspect displayed a firearm and demanded money. When the victim indicated he had none, the suspect struck him in the head with the firearm before fleeing the scene.

Through investigative efforts, Redmond Police detectives determined the suspect had followed the victim from a nearby 7-Eleven, where surveillance footage showed the suspect observing the victim during checkout before trailing him in the Tesla. Detectives were able to identify the suspect vehicle and located it at a residence in Renton.

On November 5, Redmond detectives, with the assistance of North Sound Metro SWAT, served a search warrant at the Renton home. Inside, they found clothing worn during the robbery and a stolen firearm. The suspect was identified as Abukar A. Dahir, 24, who was arrested and booked into King County Jail for Attempted Robbery in the First Degree. Dahir remains in custody with a bail set at $150,000.

The Redmond Police Department commended the hard work and cooperation between detectives and partner agencies, which led to the swift and thorough resolution of the investigation.
