SEATTLE — The City of Seattle has opened applications for its 2026 Technology Matching Fund (TMF), offering up to $45,000 in grants to nonprofit organizations and community groups working to close the digital divide and expand digital literacy across the city.

The TMF—one of Seattle’s longest-running digital equity initiatives—supports projects that increase internet access, digital skills, and technology resources for communities most impacted by digital barriers. A total of $455,000 has been allocated for this year’s awards.

“Seattle has long understood that digital access is essential to opportunity,” said Rob Lloyd, Seattle’s Chief Technology Officer. “Every resident, no matter their income, language, age, or ability, deserves the tools and connectivity to thrive in a technology-driven world. By partnering with nonprofits and community groups, we’re reaching deeper into our neighborhoods.”

For 2026, Seattle IT is partnering with the Department of Neighborhoods (DON) to expand outreach and align TMF with other city grant programs. The collaboration aims to improve visibility, create a more consistent experience for grantees, and streamline program operations.

“At the Department of Neighborhoods, we know that access to technology, opportunity, and information starts with trust,” said Jenifer Chao, DON director. “We’re excited to partner with Seattle IT to help even more community members gain access to the digital tools and skills they need to thrive.”

Grant Requirements and Eligible Projects

The TMF provides up to $45,000 per project. Applicants must meet a 25% community match requirement, which can include volunteer time, donated materials, staff hours, or cash contributions.

Eligible projects must increase digital access and adoption. Examples include:

  • Digital Navigator services: One-on-one or small group assistance

  • Digital literacy training: Classes or workshops teaching essential skills

  • Devices and technical support

  • Internet connectivity improvements: Wi-Fi expansion or access for low-income residents

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted at seattle.fluxx.io.
The deadline is January 13, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
Awardees will be notified by late March 2026.
