Bellevue, WA – The City of Bellevue hosted a special community event in honor of Native American Heritage Month, featuring “Indigenous Ways of Knowing in Community” presented by Indigenous educator Bawaajigekwe Boulley. The gathering took place Friday evening, Nov. 14, from 6–8 p.m. at Bellevue City Hall.
The event, organized in partnership with Unkitawa, highlighted the importance of community connection, traditional knowledge, and cultural education. Attendees were invited to learn about Indigenous perspectives, history, and practices through an engaging presentation aimed at fostering unity and understanding.
City officials emphasized that the program was designed to bring residents together in celebration of Native American culture and heritage. Light refreshments were provided as part of the community-focused evening.
The event is one of several held throughout November as Bellevue continues to honor Native American Heritage Month with educational and cultural programming.
