USAMan Arrested With Fentanyl After Eluding Police in Stolen Truck

Seattle police arrested a 31-year-old convicted felon Tuesday afternoon after he led officers on a dangerous pursuit in a stolen truck and was later found carrying fentanyl.

The incident unfolded around 2 p.m. on November 18, when patrol officers using an Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR) identified a stolen Ford F-150 near Meridian Avenue North and North Northgate Way. King County Sheriff’s Guardian One helicopter quickly arrived to assist from the air.

According to police, officers attempted multiple traffic stops, but the driver fled, “eluding recklessly and driving at high speed in a crowded residential area.” During the chase, a passenger jumped out of the truck and attempted to escape on foot, but officers—directed by Guardian One—located and detained him. After investigation, he was released from custody.

The helicopter continued tracking the truck as it moved across the city until the driver pulled into the Goodwill parking lot in Ballard. Police say the suspect ran inside the store and changed clothes in an attempt to hide from officers.

Store security helped police locate the suspect, who was arrested without further incident.

During a search, officers recovered 25.9 grams of fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, and the stolen truck, which contained burglary tools including a lock-picking kit. The vehicle was impounded.

The suspect—described as a multi-convicted felon with prior offenses involving firearms, stolen property, and theft—was booked into King County Jail for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Eluding a Police Vehicle, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Narcotics. He is currently on active Department of Corrections supervision for robbery and is prohibited from engaging in criminal activity as a condition of his release.

Detectives with the General Investigations Unit have been assigned to the case.
