Kent, WA — Drivers in downtown Kent should prepare for a temporary road closure later this week as crews install Christmas lights on street trees along 2nd Avenue North.
According to city officials, 2nd Ave N will be closed between W Harrison Street and W Smith Street from Wednesday, December 3 through Thursday, December 4, 2025. The closure will be in effect daily from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The closure is necessary to allow Parks Maintenance crews to safely install holiday lighting along the corridor. Traffic control measures will be in place to help guide drivers and ensure pedestrian safety.
Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes and allow extra travel time during the temporary closure period.
