USABurglary Suspect Arrested in Lake City; Police Say He’ll Be on Santa’s “Naughty List”

Seattle, WA — With just 15 days left until Christmas, Seattle police arrested a 34-year-old man in the Lake City neighborhood on Monday night after he was caught burglarizing a home equipped with indoor security cameras.

The burglary occurred on December 9 around 11:00 p.m. in the 10700 block of Exeter Avenue Northeast. According to the police report, the homeowner received several motion alerts from indoor cameras, showing someone inside the house when no one was supposed to be there.

Patrol officers, including a K9 unit, quickly responded and established a security perimeter around the residence. Shortly after, officers saw a man flee from the home and pursued him on foot. He was arrested without incident.

Although the suspect denied breaking in, officers reviewed video footage clearly showing him entering the house through a rear window. Nobody was inside the home at the time.

Police later learned the man had a nationwide felony warrant and a history of property crime convictions. He is currently under Department of Corrections supervision and is prohibited from engaging in criminal activity.

He was booked into the King County Jail, and detectives from the General Investigations Unit are now handling the case.
