USALandslide Causes Overnight Lane Closure on Maple Valley Highway

Renton, WA — A landslide has forced the closure of the northbound lane of Maple Valley Highway (SR-169) near Blaine Drive SE, directly across from the Riviera Apartments, according to the City of Renton and Renton Police Department.

Officials said the incident occurred late Monday night, and as of 11:40 p.m. on December 16, the northbound lane will remain closed overnight while crews continue monitoring the slide area. Emergency responders, Renton Police, and Public Works teams are on scene to manage traffic and assess safety conditions.

One lane remains open, but authorities are warning drivers to expect delays. Motorists are strongly advised to avoid the area if possible and use alternate routes until further notice.

Updates will be provided as conditions change and cleanup efforts progress.
