Seattle, WA — February 4, 2026 — Seattle police arrested a 45-year-old man early Wednesday morning after he fled from officers in a stolen vehicle and crashed near Magnuson Park.

Just before 2:00 a.m., officers patrolling near Seattle Children’s Hospital spotted a stolen car. The driver failed to stop, leading police on a high-speed pursuit.

The chase ended near Sand Point Way Northeast and Northeast 65th Street, where the suspect crashed the vehicle into a light pole. He attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended after a brief foot chase.

The suspect faces multiple charges, including Eluding a Police Vehicle, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Heroin, Hit and Run, Obstructing a Public Officer, and a $15,000 warrant for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

Police recovered 13 grams of methamphetamine, 2.3 grams of heroin, and fentanyl pills from the suspect. The stolen vehicle was towed from the scene.

After being medically evaluated at the hospital, the suspect was booked into King County Jail.
