The City of Renton has officially proclaimed March 2026 as American Red Cross Month during Monday’s city council meeting, recognizing the humanitarian efforts and community services provided by the organization.

Mayor Armando Pavone made the announcement, highlighting the critical role the American Red Cross plays in disaster response, emergency preparedness, and support for families during crises. The proclamation acknowledges the dedication of volunteers and staff who work year-round to assist communities in need.

Accepting the proclamation on behalf of the American Red CrossKing County Chapter was Government Operations and Community Partnerships Coordinator Paul Thomsen. The recognition emphasizes the partnership between the city and the organization in strengthening emergency readiness and providing relief services to residents.

City officials encouraged residents to learn more about Red Cross programs, volunteer opportunities, and ways to support disaster relief efforts throughout the month.
