Incidents of violence are constantly increasing in Bangladesh. Meanwhile, America has issued a new travel advisory for its citizens. It said that Bangladeshis should reconsider travelling to Bangladesh due to civil unrest, crime and terrorism in the country under the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus.
The US has issued this new advisory expressing the threat of terrorist attacks and other activities in Bangladesh. This advisory has been issued at a time when a Hindu leader has been beaten to death in Bangladesh.
According to a new travel advisory issued by the US, its citizens have been urged not to travel to Khagrachari, Rangamati and Bandarban Hill Tracts districts due to communal violence, crime, terrorism, kidnapping and other security risks.
Separatist organisations and political violence also pose additional threats to visitors to the area and there have been incidents of IED blasts and active firing, the new order said. If you plan to travel to these areas, prior approval is required from the Public Security Office of the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Government of Bangladesh. Due to the risks, US government employees working in Bangladesh are prohibited from traveling to this area.
