SEATTLE, WA — Seattle police arrested a 39-year-old armed felon after he allegedly rammed a police vehicle with a stolen car, injuring two officers during a violent confrontation in the Chinatown–International District on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident began at approximately 12:30 p.m. when patrol officers responded to a report of a man passed out behind the wheel of a sports car inside an underground parking garage in the 400 block of South Jackson Street. Officers soon learned the vehicle had been reported stolen on November 24.

When officers attempted to contact the driver, he suddenly woke up and began intentionally using the stolen vehicle to ram a marked police car, striking it several times as multiple officers attempted to take him into custody. During the attack, two Seattle police officers were injured.

Police deployed a taser to stop the suspect and successfully took him into custody. He now faces a lengthy list of felony and misdemeanor charges, including:

  • Assault in the First Degree (3 counts)

  • Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle

  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm

  • Possession of a Stolen Firearm

  • Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer

  • Narcotics Possession

  • Two misdemeanor warrants for Driving While License Suspended

  • Three felony warrants for Burglary

The Seattle Fire Department responded to the scene and provided medical treatment to the injured officers, who sustained minor injuries. Both officers were later transported to a hospital for evaluation due to blood exposure.

Following the arrest, police recovered multiple items from the suspect and the vehicle, including:

  • A stolen handgun

  • Loaded magazines and ammunition

  • 1.9 grams of methamphetamine

  • 7.9 grams of marijuana

  • Burglary tools and bolt cutters

The suspect was also treated by medics and transported to Harborview Medical Center for medical evaluation. After being medically cleared, he was booked into the King County Jail.

Police confirmed the suspect is a previously convicted felon for Burglary and Eluding Police, and is legally prohibited from possessing firearms.

The case remains under active investigation.
