Seattle police have arrested a 46-year-old man in connection with a homicide that occurred on May 7 in a tent encampment near Cheasty Boulevard South and South Winthrop Street.
Officers originally responded just before 9:00 a.m. to reports of a body at the location, where they discovered a 35-year-old man मृत with a penetrating injury outside a tent. The area was secured as detectives began processing the scene and investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
Following several days of investigation, Homicide Unit detectives developed probable cause to identify a suspect. On May 11, in a coordinated operation involving SWAT and the Gun Violence Reduction Unit, officers successfully took the suspect into custody.
The man was booked into King County Jail for investigation of murder. Authorities say the case remains active as detectives continue gathering evidence.
The King County Medical Examiner is responsible for determining the official cause and manner of death.
