The Bellevue Police Department is inviting women and their families to participate in a special holiday edition of the Women Empowered Self-Defense Workshop on November 30 at Bellevue City Hall.
The workshop, led by trained instructors, will teach participants practical safety skills, including the elbow-escape technique — a core movement used for breaking free from close-contact situations. Organizers emphasize that the event is designed to build confidence, awareness, and personal protection skills in a supportive environment.
Space for the workshop is limited, and attendees are encouraged to register early by emailing chanaumi@bellevuewa.gov to secure a spot.
The event runs from 1:20 p.m. to 3:10 p.m. and is part of the Bellevue Police Department’s ongoing community outreach and empowerment programs.
