USABoeing Delivers 18th KC-46A Pegasus Tanker to Travis Air Force Base

Washington State — Boeing marked another program milestone on Friday with the delivery of the 18th KC-46A Pegasus aerial refueling tanker to Travis Air Force Base. The aircraft, seen departing a rain-soaked runway in Washington, is the latest addition to the Air Force’s growing fleet of next-generation refuelers.

The KC-46A, built in Washington, is designed to provide enhanced fuel, cargo, and data-mission capabilities. Its advanced refueling boom, defensive systems, and multi-role configuration offer expanded range and operational flexibility for missions around the world.

Boeing noted that each new delivery strengthens global support for U.S. service members by increasing the Air Force’s aerial refueling capacity—an essential component for modern air operations. The company continues to ramp up production and delivery schedules as more aircraft move through testing and certification.

Travis Air Force Base, known as the “Gateway to the Pacific,” plays a central role in U.S. global mobility, and the arrival of another KC-46A further boosts its mission readiness.
