US President Donald Trump has imposed a 25 percent auto tariff on Canada, to which Canada has also retaliated. Prime Minister Mark Carney said on Thursday that Canada will match US President Donald Trump’s 25 percent auto tariff with a tariff on vehicles imported from America.
The 25 percent tariffs on auto imports announced earlier by Trump took effect on Thursday. The prime minister said he had spoken to Trump on the phone last week and said he would retaliate for those tariffs.
Carney said that we did not want to take this step but now we have to take this step. He further said that this will have maximum impact in America and minimum impact in Canada. Canada will not impose tariff on auto parts
