A previously closed section of the Cedar River Trail has officially reopened, offering renewed access for pedestrians and cyclists between Riverview Park and the city’s dog park.
According to Renton Parks and Recreation, the city has installed a temporary packed gravel “bump-out” along a narrow հատված of the trail near a fenced embankment. This improvement is designed to widen the path, making it safer and more comfortable for both walkers and riders sharing the space.
While the reopening is welcome news for outdoor enthusiasts, officials emphasize that the current fix is temporary. Trail users are advised to follow posted signage and use caution when navigating the adjusted section.
Permanent Upgrades Planned
The city confirmed that this interim solution is part of a broader plan to enhance trail safety. Permanent repairs and improvements are already in development, with completion expected by 2027.
In the meantime, residents can enjoy restored access to one of Renton’s popular recreational routes while the city continues working toward long-term upgrades.
