China enraged over Kiren Rijiju’s statement on Dalai Lama’s successor

INTERNATIONALChina enraged over Kiren Rijiju's statement on Dalai Lama's successor

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Thursday gave his statement on the process of choosing the successor of the Dalai Lama. Now China has reacted to this. China has said that India should be cautious while making statements on issues related to Tibet so that it does not affect bilateral relations.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning said at a media briefing that India should be aware of the anti-China and separatist behavior of the 14th Dalai Lama and should honor its commitments on issues related to Xizang (Tibet). He said that India should be cautious in its words and actions. At the same time, China wants to maintain its interference in this matter and says that the process of choosing the successor should be completed under the policies of the Chinese government.

Kiren Rijiju’s statement is the first reaction from India on this issue. He had said that the decision on the successor of the Dalai Lama will be taken by the established institution, the leader of Tibetan Buddhists, and not by anyone else. China has said that India should stop interfering in China’s internal affairs on issues related to Xinjiang so that it does not affect the improvement and development of China-India relations.

Two ministers of the central government, Kiren Rijiju and Rajiv Ranjan Singh, are representing the Indian government in the 90th birthday celebrations of the Dalai Lama in Dharamshala on July 6. But the minister has said that the birthday celebration is a religious ceremony and has nothing to do with politics.
