China organized a half marathon on Saturday. It was unique in itself because robots also participated in it along with humans. This is said to be the world’s first such race of humanoid robots.
During this time, advances in AI technologies were showcased amid Beijing’s growing rivalry with the US in robotics. 21 humanoid robots (human-like robots) along with their technical operators from top universities and firms took part in a 21-km race in Beijing.
A large number of people gathered on the sidewalks to watch these robots running with humans. After the competition, prizes were distributed in several categories. During this, not only speed, but also best performance, walking style, athletic performance and engineering capability etc. were taken into consideration.
