Kent, WA — The City of Kent has announced that registration is now open for its Spring 2026 session of “Kent 101,” a free seasonal civics course designed to help residents gain a deeper understanding of how their local government operates.
The program offers community members an inside look at the roles and responsibilities of city leadership, department staff, and various municipal functions. Participants attend interactive classroom-style sessions where officials explain key services, decision-making processes, and day-to-day operations that keep the city running.
A photo shared by the city shows residents seated in a council chamber-style classroom as a presenter speaks from the front of the room. The course continues to grow in popularity as more residents seek to learn how to engage with and influence local government.
According to the City of Kent, “Kent 101” aims to empower residents with the knowledge they need to better participate in civic life, ask informed questions, and understand how public services are delivered.
Registration is now open at KentWA.gov/Kent101 for anyone interested in joining the Spring 2026 cohort.
