USACity of Kent Promotes Pet Licensing to Help Reunite Lost Animals

KENT, Wash. — The City of Kent is urging pet owners to license their cats and dogs with Regional Animal Services of King County (RASKC), highlighting the essential role that licensing plays in reuniting lost pets with their families.

In a public announcement, the city emphasized that pets without identification may never make it back home if they go missing. Licensing provides a reliable way for animal services to contact owners quickly, offering peace of mind and improving outcomes for lost pets.

Beyond identification, pet licenses help fund RASKC’s life-saving operations, including 24/7 lost-pet reunification services and shelter care available every day of the year.

Residents can license their pets online at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet, or in person at participating QFC stores, vehicle licensing agencies, and city halls. Assistance is also available by phone at 206-296-2712.

Officials encourage all pet owners to take advantage of the program, noting that licensing is an easy step that provides significant benefits for pets, their families, and the community.
